I anticipated the Taste of DC after returning from Chicago. Wherever there's an event which consist of tasting a slew of different dishes, you can count me in. This year event was held on the weekend of the Columbus Day Holiday. Three days to taste all the participating restaurants, live entertainment.

The Taste of DC included over 50 of the District's hottest restaurants. Tickets were available online at deal sites such as: Groupon, Living Social and Capitol deals-- $8.99 online & $10 at the event which include one beverage, either alcohol or soft drink. Each restaurant had over 4 menu items and one tasting item for $3 or less. The Beer Pavilion presented by Stella Artois featured 5oz tastings and full pours more than 30 local, national and international brews.

The event entertainment included the 2nd Annual World Chili Eating Championship, live performances from local artist on the Main Stage and Family Zone which involved interactive games for children and parents. Also, the United Service Organization (USO) and Taste of DC partnered to create a special Salute to Troops in the nation's capital followed by a Military Cooking demonstrations in the culinary pavilion.
